If you have decided on a nursing career and are thinking about what type of nursing would suit you best, then take a look at General Practice.
An increasing number of nursing degree courses offer placements within General Practice, and even if yours does not it may be possible to arrange one on request.
Many experienced nurses also choose to move into General Practice, so they can build longer-term relationships with their patients and support the same families through different stages of life. An extra bonus it the opportunity to work flexible, daytime hours.
Some practices are happy to help you with any extra training you need after you start the job. Alternatively, you may find it useful to do a short course in GP Nursing before applying for a role.
